How to use these templates

Each template follows the same shape: a hook, the point, the proof or steps, and one next step. That shape is explained in our guide on writing a script that sounds spoken.

  • Replace everything in [square brackets]. Keep the line breaks; they mark where to breathe.
  • Word counts include the placeholder words, so your final script will be close but not identical. Times assume 140 words per minute.
  • Change the wording until it sounds like you. A template is a starting point, not a script to read word for word.
  • Open in teleprompter loads the template into our free online teleprompter, where you can edit it and read it full screen.

Make a template your own

  • Read it aloud first. Change any phrase you would not naturally say.
  • Cut before you add. If you go over the word count, remove a sentence instead of speeding up.
  • Check the length. Paste your finished version into the speech time calculator.
  • Rehearse once in the prompter. Then read our guide on sounding natural on camera.
